Cosmetics are nice inside and out. Like the embedded door handle on either side so that you can reverse the door if needed.

Will it stand the test of time?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems to be working good so far, but will it outlast my last one of 25+ years. Even though this model is slightly larger in cubit feet, it seems to hold less food. It is taller, but not as deep. The outer layer of the unit doesn’t seem to be as durable and perhaps not as thick. None of those things necessarily make this a bad freezer and probably the only complaint I have is how difficult it is to open the door. It’s awkward and unless you have a lot of food inside, it will move some when pulling on the door. A handle would be better than the recessed area. With that being said, perhaps the excellent seal and difficultly opening the door is a good thing as this might loosen some with use and time. One other thing is how bright the indicator light is. It is very bright, but unless you sleep near or in the same area as the freezer, this shouldn’t be a reason not to buy this. Another thing to note is how quiet this is while running. And let’s not forget the door ajar alarm…a nice bonus indeed. Overall, I’m very pleased with this freezer, but we have only had it a few months as of the time of this review. I believe this was the best choice out there at the time for this size and type of freezer. We did buy it when it was on sale, so that was a plus as well. I can’t find any reason at this time to not recommend this freezer. If we get at least half of the usage time as our old Frigidaire, I’ll be happy.
