Freezer freezes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It does its job quietly and reliably. No need for a ‘relationship’ or an ‘experience’. It’s a frozen oasis free of the modern appliance emotional over involvement.

Major defect in shelf design
on March 22, 2020
Posted by: Ed L
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unit was delivered on Feb. 26, 2020. After about 6 hours to let the unit cool down, we transferred all the food from the 12 year old and dying Frigidaire freezer. A few days later, my wife went to the freezer to retrieve some meat for dinner. Upon opening the door, one of the shelves slipped off the shelf support built into the side of the freezer liner spilling the food content on the floor and her feet. Upon further inspection, it was determined that the distance between the shelf supports on either side of the liner was only 11/16" less than the shelf itself. Furthermore the shelf width was less than the distance between the sides of the liner which allowed the shelf to move side to side on the shelf supports and thus slip off the supports dumping the contents onto the floor. Sent pics to dealer who claimed that placing food in the plastic bins overloaded the shelves. Said he wouldn't replace the unit but would take it back. Called Frigidaire warranty service and explained the problem. They scheduled a service call for late on 03/04/20. Technician said it appeared inner freezer liner was bowed outward. Took measurements and pictures and sent them to the Frigidaire Warranty claim for processing and said I'd hear from them in 5-6 business days. By this time, I had exhausted my patients with this whole experience with this Frigidaire freezer. Arranged to purchase a different brand of freezer from a different dealer. When that replacement unit arrived, I contacted the Frigidaire dealer to come pick-up the defective unit. By-the-way, it has been 11 business days since the warranty claim was filed and I have yet to hear back from Frigidaire! I tried to include pictures to illustrate the problem but this site requires a format different than that produced by an iPhone.

Very disappointed

I bought this 3 weeks ago. Freezer has already stopped working. I am waiting on appliance repair to come out next week to see what the issue is. Very disappointed since I only put meat it in new freezer a week ago and most was spoiled.

It sucks!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It died on day 2 and am still waiting for parts to get it repaired. It is ridiculous that it only worked less than 2 days. Lost a ton of food and am totally disappointed. Asked for a replacement and was told no. Do NOT buy!!! Maybe I'll win and get a new freezer.

Awesome

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A month in and everything is great except for the little things that the front of the racks rest on. The rear of the racks are secure in grooves. The front of the racks rest on little plastic bumps that are just a little to small and the racks fall down if really loaded up.

Good Investment !!! Time will tell...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since our vegetable garden did well & a 1/2 a cow of 600 lbs.of fresh beef was ready to pick up, we needed to get a big freezer pretty quick. We have had other smaller & cheaper chest & upright freezers, but love this Frigidaire upright freezer. In my research on storing 600 lbs. of frozen fresh beef, it was stated to have a 7 cu.ft. freezer. It could be done but it would be over-packed tight! Had to pay $$$ more for this Fridgedair 16 cu.ft. upright freezer. It turned out to be a perfect storage size inside and great size all around. I was rushed in buying new freezer but I did take my time to research & compared other brands, sizes & price. This one excelled on reviews and was worth paying more for Frigidaire than the others This freezer sits nicely in our partially finished basement. The motor/compressor are extremely QUIET !!! The bright green function light at bottom is nice and good for a nightlight! Also, door alarm is great to have!! Gives me more security in knowing freezer is working as it should be. I have a freezer thermometer inside to make sure the freezer IS doing the job. I did look at other chests and uprights at 7 cu.ft. & trying to save money. But I decided, for the price, to get the larger upright freezer. The upright design is much easier to use & this Fridgedair upright design makes it easy to organize food and the indoor light is really nice and BRIGHT to see my frozen items very well. Designed well for ease of use & CONVENIENT. The price was a little high for us, but we saved up money for months due to our fixed low income & being retired early from disabilities. So far, I believe this freezer is a good investment. *** There's only (1) big point and (2) small points I preferred to have which are... #(1) - Manufacturer Warranty should be up to at least 3 - 5 years. #(2) - Needs to have adjustment on all legs/rollers for perfect leveling as required in manual (I had to use shims). BUT having ROLLERS on bottom is GREAT. #(3) - Prefer shelves inside door to be adjustable. BUT, the fixed shelf spacing is pretty good. All our other appliances are Frigidaire and going on 16 years. So I hope this new freezer will last much longer. Just now going on 3 weeks of use. Soo, We'll see...

Coming Home
on February 7, 2024
Posted by: Suzies Truck Stop
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The title does not describe my coming home after a long sojourn elsewhere but a coming home of all my frozen foods. I am an admitted food hoarder. Whether it is because of the way I was raised by a single mother or because of a fear of being without I can't decide, but a hoarder I am. Specifically for the past 9 years I have purchased food on sale, placed it in freezer bags and stored it in my kitchen refrigerator/freezer, my garage refrigerator/freezer and in my daughter's garage refrigerator/freezer and upright freezer. The food I have placed in her appliances has quite often been the majority of their contents. The situation has gotten worse over the last seven years since my husband died. Since that time my family and friends have honored me with weekly visits for a Saturday night meal and an evening of playing games. That is planned. My house, however, has become known as "Suzie's Truck Stop" since I keep enough food and supplies on hand to whip up a meal for anyone that stops by at any time. I have tried to keep a list of what is where so that food doesn't get overlooked or stay in the freezer too long and spoil. While not always successful in this endeavor, it has helped. At Christmas time my youngest daughter who lives out of town said, "Mom, I want to get you something you want - not something you need. Do you have any ideas?" Well an upright freezer for my garage was mentioned and low and behold she bought me one. Now, I could have bought one myself and probably would have in a few months when my hearing aids are paid off, but she went ahead and did it then. The freezer has been in my garage for a few weeks and I'm delighted. I was able to separate things out - a shelf for beef, a shelf for pork, a basket for chicken, a shelf for casseroles, meatloaves, stuffed peppers, and pot pies, door shelves for bags of biscuits, rolls, ravioli, chicken nuggets, etc. It is lovely. Rather than stuff my new upright full, I still use my garage refrigerator/freezer for ice cream, pizzas, waffles, loaves of bread, bags of ice for company, and blue ice for taking food to others. My inside refrigerator/freezer keeps frozen fruit and the ice cream I'm currently eating, along with candies and nuts I use for baking, and coffee (for visitors since I don't drink it). This may seem crazy to others, but the organization makes me feel all warm and fuzzy as I have a place for everything and everything is in its place.

Great Freezer but Broke in 10 days!
on March 28, 2020
Posted by: Szokoe
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this on Feb 10th 2020 and it was back ordered. I received it on March 7th and loved it for the 10 days I had it running. After finally finding a repair service in our area that was reputible, the control panel was broken. I'm still waiting for the part because it has been back ordered too. So I got 10 days of pure love for it. Not so much now!
