Perfect home printer

I tried another brand but was not satisfied with the quality of the print or the cost for the ink cartridges. When the HP Smart Tank 5101 arrived, I was impressed from the moment that I opened the box. It was light weight and easy to set up. It took me twenty minutes from opening the box to setting up the printer to connect with my personal laptop and work laptop. Filling the ink tanks was mess-free and a breeze thanks to the color coded bottles and ink ports. I love that the tank level indicators are on the front of the printer and which allows me to see just how much ink I have left. The amount of ink used for printing pages seems very minimal and leaves me confident I will be able to print numerous work documents throughout the year without fear of running low on ink. I have even tested printing from my phone using the HP Smart App and was pleased with the app as well. I would recommend this printer to all.

The little printer that could

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] HP has made huge leaps in improvement, maintenance and convenience with the smart tank printer. Filling ink and refilling is now an absolute breeze - gone are the days of having to swap out these weird boxy printer cartridges that were somewhat of a pain to swap in and out. Simply turn the appropriate colored ink bottle upside down onto the nozzle, and remove when it has stopped filling, a completely leak/drip free experience due to the nature of the rubber seals they put on the bottles. The device itself feels well constructed, hinges move smoothly and all pieces feel firm and solid, no flimsiness or feeling like something may break when opening the face. Setup and wireless set up was so smooth and convenient, using the HP app setup was essentially automatic aside from signing into your HP account and clicking a bluetooth button on the printer. Printing takes approx 30 seconds for the device to receive the printing instructions from the PC, and another 15-25 seconds per page depending on the amount of content on said page. Printing a 1040 for example, was about 20 seconds a page, print quality being fantastic. Scanning is quick and clear. With the HP app and print anywhere, you can print directly from your phone or any other device, gone are the days of having to email yourself a document and get on your PC to print it out. It's a fantastic little printer. May not be the fastest but, and for the price, I think it's a great personal use/home office printer.

Easy set up

I have struggled with other brands of printers for quite a few years, i am happy to say this is the best printer i have ever owned! When you unbox the printer, HP makes it easy to take it out of the box by having 2 plastic bag handles on either side of the box. Take out the brown box on top, pull out the handles, place the brown box back on top, then pull the printer out of the box. Next find the instruction manual and find the QR code to download the app. The app will guide you through how to set up the printer. There are pictures and instructions that are super user friendly. If you are not tech friendly, you are in good hands, with the HP app printer setup. Ink was easy to uncap, and place on the ink reservoir. As soon as you place the ink Bottle on top, it drains right in, no problems. It’s also very easy to connect the printer to your network. Honestly the easiest printer set up I’ve ever dealt with. The app has many functions, theres even print outs for your kids loaded on there. As far as the print quality, it is gorgeous. Beautiful professional looking prints. I can’t recommend the Hp smart tank 5101 enough. Whoops, i forgot one the the best features of this printer, the refillable ink! No more refilling messy cartridges! This alone makes the printer worth trying out. The only thing i wish was different was the size of the black ink refill, I wish it was 2 small bottles vs. one large bottle, because it is easier to store the small one in the drawer under my printer. I can’t not fit the large bottle in my drawer.

I downloaded the app and it was so easy to login.I enjoy access to free printable contents. It hold 100 sheets in tĥe tray. The ink was so easy to add and the colors are brand vibrant. I can use the app and printer from my phone, laptop, desktop and so can the whole family can download and use the app to print. I can copy, scan and print so many pages. We use it everyday and us different size paper and a gloss paper too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how it was very light printer, and easy to unbox, it was protected by the inside of the packaging, easy to remove all the plastic tape from all the protection, it was included with 4 ink, the only cons that I face was putting the print head, I was having a hard time taking out the orange protector inside. But I manage to remove it in 10 minutes keep pulling it. I have say the time it prints is great for me, you just have to be patient with it, and it’s very clean and neat, the color was also great,it’s vivid and bright. that’s it, this is my first printer, so I am so happy to have it, it was an all in one. So very convenient for me and my children who are in high school.

Easy to set up and use

I have been using it to print out flyers for a local gym, and the color ink worked perfectly for this task. It was super easy to set up, easy to use, and the fact that it comes with so much ink was a huge bonus!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] ***Update: I've been using this printer for a little bit and everything has been fantastic. I've been able to connect wirelessly with no issues. The app has a great feel to it and it's very user friendly. This is the second "tank" printer I have tried and have been very happy with this one. The print quality and speed on this one is quite a bit better than the other one I've used. Overall I'm happy and impressed with this printer, tank ink is the way to go!
I just set it up and haven't used it much yet, but the set up was really easy and it has me excited to use it. I love the tank system and this was a great system to install.
I would recommend this to a friend!
