[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded from the HP Envy 6505e to the HP Smart Tank 5101. I Love It! It was so easy to set up with the instructions included with the packaging. All I had to do was fill the ink reservoirs, pop in the printer heads, plug in and go! So very easy! It's a quiet model, very quiet. My room is right next to the living room. My roommates tell me that they can not hear my printer any more when I'm busy printing in my room.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a simple printer that fits what I need it to do. It is not overly complicated and prints very well. The ink was easy to install and it connected well to my computer. The color was rich and looked professional and every image I printed came out looking very crisp. Main complaint I have is the speed it prints at. It takes a while to receive the "order" and then another good minute to actually print out what I asked it to. Since I'm usually just printing out something for my kids or a recipe or something I'm ok with that but I would not recommend this for a business or someone working from home. It also got a little frustrating when an error occurred, it kept beeping at me but would not tell me why, I had to go to the computer to find out the reason. Overall I am happy with this printer, it is perfect for my family and printing simple documents at an easy pace.

Unique printer style

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The printer design is very sleek and very appealing. The quality of what is printed is very good and has no streaks. The printer requires liquid ink plus additional printer heads, which is new to me but I assume provides a more quality and consistent printing. The 5101 is definitely a home printer and not meant for busy office work.
Connecting to wifi and to the computer took a couple times but it eventually worked.
The blank paper is loaded from the rear, which is odd and requires the printer to be slightly positioned away from a wall in the back in order to feed correctly.
Printing also is a little slow but is common with non-laser jet printers.
Otherwise, the printer will be a great replacement for my older model that is obsolete.

Good quality printer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As with all the HP printers I have had the quality is as expected. The HP Smart Tank 5101 All-in -One Printer was very easy to set up. It took maybe 20 minutes to set up.
Filling the ink tanks was very easy and not messy at all. I expected some spillage but there was not any.
Connecting it to my wi-fi and my devices was a breeze. I love the fact that the plastic bag in the box had handles to pull the printer out of the box easily. No more fighting to get out of the box.
The print quality is great. Printing speed is good. The printer does a lot of movement when you send it a file to print. If I remember right it is cleaning the heads of the pens. But once it starts printing the quality is great.
I have not tried other types of paper yet but I am sure it will handle it well.
The only complaint I would have is the paper feeder. I find it hard to load the paper without damaging the bottom corner. But that is just. me. Once I have the paper in correctly it feeds it properly and have not had any jams.
HP has always made quality printers and this one is no exception.
I whole heartly recommend this printer.

I have always had HP Deskjet printers, and it seems like I was constantly ordering ink cartridges...either I ran out or didn't use the printer in a while and for some reason, they didn't work right. I love the idea of the tank printer. Supplies will be much cheaper.

~Ease of Setup: I am a long-time toner cartridge user, so I was hesitant to a tank style printer. Messy ink cartridges have frequently colored my hands, but I was surprised at how easy it was to setup. My 80-year father, one of the primary users, filled the tanks and found it very easy and intuitive. Then looking at the directions after the fact, we realized that the directions were quite easy to follow as well.
Simple setup and no more messy ink cartridges.
~Ink: The tank system, a high-capacity tank system significantly reducing the frequency of refills, is living up to the hype. That and a 2-year supply. love it.
~Wireless: An extremely critical need for our house was wireless connectivity. We have multiple operating systems in the house, including a Chromebook. I had spent over a dozen hours having the Chromebook connect to other printers, with only limited results. ~The HP SmartTank 5101 was a great success. Quick and easy setup. No extra apps, no extra cables. All machines, laptops, Chromebook, android phones, and google phones can print wirelessly.
~Quality and speed. The print speed and quality is appropriate for a home office. There is an initial adjustment of the print heads when first printing, but overall great speed. Quality is great and though I have not tried all paper types, I expect great results when needed.
~Copy / Scan – This is quite easy and straight forward. Either using the options on the printer itself or via the HP SmartApp. Great Quality and performance were up to HP standards.
~My only with would be a paper tray instead of a feeder. I personally and keep the paper straighter and more aligned using a tray instead of a feeder.
