[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The printer is small enough that you can place it anywhere inside the house. I placed mine in a nightstand by my desk. It is not heavy and easy to use and install. The quality of the printing is great and colorful; however, I wish it could print double-sided as I like to save on paper. It is slower than another hp printer I have.

It was simple to setup via the mobile app and now my 10 yr old daughter can easily print off of her phone, ipad, and computer. She enjoys being able to copy things and print borderless pictures. Having had messy ink jets in the past the smart tanks that hold the ink are way cleaner and easy to refill. Becuase it's so small, it fits well on my daughter's desk. She really appreciates not having to go downstairs for printouts anymore.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] HP, I have to say I was slightly skeptical at first, but the step-by-step instructions made this setup even easier than I feared. I unboxed each component and set up the printer within minutes. As far as loading the ink cartridges, I thought either it would over flow or spill and to my surprise - neither happened! I actually found it intriguing as I loaded yellow to black ink in its own display tank. This is the best feature so far that I love about the Smart Tank Printer. Once software is downloaded, you are ready to explore your options. I thus far have made a few flyers and ink cartridges are still looking full.

The print quality is great both in black and white and color. The app is easy to use to print jobs from either my computer or my mobile device. It prints in great quality and is plenty fast.

A little disappointing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] THE HP Smart Tank 5102 All-in-One Printer has some great features and some disappointing features. I like for the set up on my gadgets/equipment to be relatively intuitive. This printer was about 50/50 with intuitive set up. When inserting the printheads, the printer did not work as the instructions said it would. I had to manually move the printhead carriage to insert the printheads. The machine is a little loud and sounds clunky. The printing is a little slow, but should suffice for home use. The colors are okay, perhaps could be a little more vivid. However, I love the idea of the ink tanks and that I don't have to change ink cartridges every two seconds. That is the saving grace of this machine. The other things I am not crazy about are aesthetic. This is a beautifully streamlined printer until you load the paper. Then you have an inch overlap of the paper holder on one side. That makes my OCD brain go nuts. Same on the paper catcher on the bottom. It isn't centered.
One the bright side, the ink loads very quickly. I look forward to seeing if this lasts as long as they say it will.

Perfect For Home

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work from home and was looking for a second printer. I wanted one that was pretty basic for everyday use. I have been very pleased with this printer. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the items I printed. This would include envelopes, documents, and photos. The ink tanks make it very convenient to see how much ink is left for each color. The scanner is just as convenient. It picks up fine details of items scanned as well as scanning documents and copying items. I would definitely recommend this printer.

Disconnects from my app

It's great to be able to print from my phone, though you have to convert documents to PDF for whatever reason. Scanning works great and the ink tanks last a long time. It disconnects from my app all the time, however. I often have to "forget" my set up printer and "find" it again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a teacher who designs classroom decor products, I was looking for a printer that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg for ink. I go through a LOT.
Setting up the HP Smart Tank 5101 All-in-One Printer was a snap. Simply pour the ink into the reservoir (it has a non leak bottle that only dispenses once it is clicked into the right spot), snap in the printer heads, plug in, and go.
I was super impressed with the quality of the prints. It even allows for borderless printing.
The biggest surprise was how quiet it was while printing. I also currently have an Officejet 7740 (which I LOVE for printing large format posters), but it is very loud. The HP Smart Tank 5101 All-in-One Printer was so quiet while printing.
There were only a couple drawbacks:
-It does not print in larger paper sizes borderless. At least that I could figure out anyway. It will print legal sized, but not borderless which makes a difference for me when I am printing specialty items.
-The black ink bottle contains more than the reservoir can hold (extra is always good), but I was concerned about pulling it out of the upside position and getting ink everywhere.
-It does not hold a whole ream of paper in the input tray. I will have to refill the paper tray often when printing in bulk.
-It does not print in larger paper sizes borderless. At least that I could figure out anyway. It will print legal sized, but not borderless which makes a difference for me when I am printing specialty items.
