Love TurboTax but Beware of Upgrade Popups

I have filed with TurboTax since I got my first job in high school. The layout has always been easy to use and I have never had issues with filing my taxes with them. It is set up in a very easy to use way with multiple areas of free support through their helpful 'more information' buttons to help me understand the different tax breaks and questions. It is easy to upload documents or even take pictures to use those for documentation purposes. They have added more fees over the years, however, I do think they are still the easiest to use and cheapest for filing taxes (they are cheaper than going to a tax filing business). The only thing I would say I dislike is the regular pop ups asking me to upgrade. Once in the beginning is okay, but not multiple times throughout in a way that, if not paying attention, you may accidently click.

Good Experience Overall, Pricing Needs Clarity

I’ve been using TurboTax for about a decade, and I like that I can file on my own and keep my and my child’s information private. The platform is easy to use, which is why I’ve continued to use it.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more mindful of fees. It only recently dawned on me why my return was never actually free to file, but the jump to a $99 fee at the end still feels unexpected, especially when no upgrades were selected. Better pricing transparency would make a big difference. That said, I will continue to file through TurboTax because the costs are not the issue.
