OMG the endless upsells!!!

Positives: It pulls needed information from previous forms. I liked that I could take a picture of my W-2 instead of filling out the form.
Negatives: The never ending upsells are particularly irritating. It's enough to make me want to pay an accountant to do my taxes for me. The next biggest irritation is many of the steps are repetitive. Having to refill out the cost basis for option transactions was a major pain. The brokerage left the field blank because it was $0 - which happens when you sell one short. The software should recognize that and let me complete all in one fell swoop.

I don't know if I'll use the software again.

Massive disappointment leaves me with doubt

In previous years, Turbo Tax client install would walk me through all topics. The Web version I just used missed the home office deduction as well as my son's 1098 T for college. I am very skeptical that I got the best possible refund. I will be using a CPA next year and leaving Turbo Tax for good. Bet that minimum viable product mindset doesn't make too much sense now, huh?

Prefer desktop

I prefer desktop but had to do online as I didn't have Windows 11 on my computer. I didn't like that online did not let me do several returns... with desktop, I could do one return joint, one return me separate, and one with my wife separate, but I could not do so with desktop.

Another year with TurboTax

It's a very intuitive system for the routine non-complex areas. It fails to provide you a direct solution to a problem, the system simply keeps repeating the same issue/concern without providing you the steps on how to provide the answer to the question. It expects you to know what it is asking you.

Stop making us pay for a thing that should be free

Stop lobbying the US government to make us pay for your service when there was a free version that you all shut now.
