Turbo tax Premium

Turbo Tax is now too expensive and upcharges

I was unhappy with the cost of the online product. Also, the SW no longer allows you to easily get to the forms that are behind the interface. It forced me into an upgrade from the Deluxe to the premium due to a mistake that could not be corrected without clearing all my data. This may be the last year I use turbo tax.

Tricky Consent to Transmit data to 3rd Parties

Overall fine like always, but what really got me frustrated was how it somewhat 'defaults' you to get the 5 day filing faster but also needs you to consent to sharing info to 3rd parti. that was super tricky until reviewing the fine print. Not Cool Inuit!

A good experience

Very convenient and quick to have last year's information available. It was reasonably fast this year overall. I did get a little annoyed that the medical expenses deduction would not go away until I filled all the boxes with zeros. Also, it would have been useful to be asked about all the uncommon situations. I paid estimated taxes but was not asked about it. So the refund was "tax due" until I found the estimated payments at the end of a long list. Overall, a good experience.

Online version too confusing

We decided to use the online version after buying the desktop version. The experience was nothing short of confusion. You can't easily find the IRS form that has been filled in. It's difficult to navigate because you have to start from the 1st page of each subject if you're looking back in confusion, or for accuracy. The tax due/owed on the online version didn't keep updating. At one point you guys said we'd get back WAY much. When we finally found the IRS 1040, it showed around less - which was more than we expected, but at least we now saw some dividends that hadn't been accounted for when not looking at the 1040.
I hope you guys keep the desktop version.
I kept having to "buy" for $0 to be able to save my return. I still haven't figured out how to save a secondary .tax file on my computer

Good but disappointing.

I don't know why it wouldn't capture last year's tax reporting info. Also, I wish i could later go directly to finish and file without going through everything again.
