Aweful. I was charged $200 for filing taxes. I should have used a different provider. They charged me $64 for my state return of only $32

Senior Tax Deduction is Confusing

It was very confusing that the $6000 senior tax credit was not shown until the very end; it needs to be clearly shown in addition to the standard deductions,

Easy way to file return
on April 12, 2026

It's quite easy to enter most information by directly connecting financial institutions although some of them are no available. Hopefully most (including small local federal credit union banks) will be added next year. One small thing needs to be fixed. For 1099-INT, it keeps asking CUSIP No although the document shows NONE for e-filing. I found after Googling that it needs to be left blank to solve the problem instead of enter "NONE". It should guide to solve this kind of problem directly.

Great product, but error checking was problematic

Generally good, but had a very frustrating "review" error that was very difficult to resolve. On the Federal Review I had an error: Person on the return worksheet (my child's name): Enrollmentstatus must be entered. I had not claimed any education credits since I didn't qualify. I eventually found (via google, not within TurboTax despite some effort) this solution: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/person-on-the-return-worksheet-my-child-s-name-enrollmentstatus-must-be-entered/00/3824476#:~:text=Level%201-,Person%20on%20the%20return%20worksheet%20(my%20child's%20name):%20Enrollmentstatus,New%20Memberi Which is ludicrous that basically I had to make a false entry and then erase it to clear this error. When the review flags and error but doesn't link to where in process it was generated it leaves the user in a very difficult position. This error would not point back nor mention which form may have triggered the error nor take one to the "form" it would populate with the information.

Frustrating Issues
on April 12, 2026

Tax returns rejected due to HSA issue where apparently I did not check box to certify that I did not have marketplace insurance. It seems that TurboTax should have flagged this on review. Handling of OID Box 10 – Bond Premium is not clear in Turbotax. No good instructions on how to handle if there is a box 10 value. If I enter a box 10 value I get an error that indicates that the bond premium adjustment reported on this Form 1099-OID is greater than the interest income reported in Box 2. But there is no box 2 value. I had to delete the box 10 value and enter it as an adjustment. Info on how to do this came from online forum. There should be help in Turbotax for this. You can't see or modify Schedule A, Schedule B, etc with the online version. Makes it difficult to verify how issue above is handled. Cost increase for the Online version from what it initially looked like. Overall very frustrating. Next year I will likely have a Tax professional do my taxes and not use Turbotax.

The drip-drip nickel-and-diming is short term gain
on April 12, 2026

I've used TurboTax for about a decade, and previously would rank it 5/5. It's a 1/5 this year and next year I'll be looking for another tax service.
I'm no longer interested in TurboTax because of the new "drip-drip" nickel-and-dime model your software has taken. Three times I was mid-way through doing my taxes here, and had to "pay more" to unlock some feature needed for a particular deduction/exemption. I'm fine paying for this service, I don't need it to be free. But I want the "self-service, no tax assistant" price upfront. It's a winning strategy (for you) to have myself invest my time into your product, and then say you'll "turn the power on" if I fork over more money. But it's turned me off of your product for the future.
