Someone explain to me why, in the "greatest country in the world", does it cost $215 to file taxes MYSELF using the same software that exists on the FREE version? Not to mention other "not so great countries" do all of it for free, but what claws at me the most is: I DID ALL OF THE WORK. start to finish, even deep diving into previous tax files to "prove its me" when i had already verified my cell number, social security and email prior to this.
I know this will fall on deaf ears and probably never be viewed by a "human", but it was an agonizing experience that pushed me right back into a depression.
Never again, i honestly wont be surprised if my tax info gets sold to the highest bidder after this year. $215....for nothing. it was even instantly accepted proving to me there was no intervention beyond a machine.

2025 tax return with K1

Everything went great was inexpensive and simple. My only complaint would be if you have a K1 and it has been created by an accounting firm for your business filling out the information could be easier or a explained better. My K1 had codes that referenced statements and it should be able to understand how to tell user to complete the form. I was able to use Gemini to help me and had my accountant double check. Other then that it was very easy.
Pros: My employment status changed this year

My only complaint is that in order to have my fees paid for out of my return, I have to purchase an additional product.
