Easy Tax Return

Always a straight-forward easy experience. I keep thinking I'll need to itemize more and keep falling into the standard...ok by me!!

Turbo tax disapointed me.

I was able to engage with a turbo tax support specialist over the phone because of the issue I was having. She was so kind, and so helpful. I hope Georgia is treating her well. I am 24 years old and started investing in stock a few years ago. I had 30$ in stock I sold last year to reinvest in a company I held more stock in that was doing better. Well doing so, caused me to gain $28 in capital gains. Due to this when filing the 1099, I HAD to change my service from do it yourself free to do it yourself premium. Do it yourself premium costs $139. $139 for $28 in capital gains is absurd. I did not get anything extra, but the ability to file my 1099. I have used turbo tax for years because it has been so good to me, the last 8 years that I have worked actually. Just very disappointed in the whole situation. Thankfully the associate, I feel so bad I didn't catch her name. She was able to get ahold of her manager and get me $60 off code. But still $79 for $28 in capital gains is outrageous. I will be planning to use another site next year to keep from having the same issues next year. May love light and happiness find that wonderful associate who helped me.

A Seamless Experience

It was very easy to navigate the platform and when I had questions there were FAQs and resources I was able to navigate towards to find my answers.

Too cumbersome

Took several days just to figure where I enter my estimated tax payments. The program restricts movement way too much. The prior format where all areas were shown and user could just pick what and where they work was much better. It allowed you to go directly to any area and action without restricting movement. I could go directly to tax payments and just enter my data.

Turbotax is a scam

Honestly, we all know that this is supposed to be a free program but D.C. and companies like you have made that impossible. You own most the market, a monopoly, you might say. The only good thing about you is that you sync up with banks and stuff but you do that rather poorly too sometimes. You greedily try to get me to upgrade and steal most my returns. A 40 dollar filing fee? On top of paying that ridiculous 139 "do it yourself" that used to be free, because we all know the government has the ability to do it. What was that 139 fee for if not for any transfer fees? I lost my job and can't afford this crap. My therapist's tax lady is 100. And no extra fees. Every year I convince myself I'm going to go to my therapist's tax lady instead. You guys are the definition of money is the root of all evil, except people don't know that in reality, that Bible passage is referring to greed.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I bought or sold investments
