caught us off guard with not being able to file for free online anymore. Everything else worked as expected.

LABOR INTENSIVE

WE DID IT BY DYI ONLY. WE WERE FRUSTRATED BECAUSE WE BOUGHT THE DESKTOP VERSION AND COULDN'T GET IT TO WORK AND WOUND UP WITH GOING ONLINE. THE ONLINE WAS SO DIFFERENT FROM PRIOR YEARS AND WE FOUND IT AWKWARD TO MOVE BACK AND FORTH TO LOOK AT WHAT WE PUT IN THE TOOL WITHOUT HAVING TO CLICK ALL THE WAY. RATHER STUPID! WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY SELECT THE CATEGORY WITHOUT ALL THE CLICKING AND SELECTING ALL OVER.

Not As Good As Last Year
on March 31, 2026

Accuracy was less than expected and less than previous years. My downloaded file was not completely read to populate my return. I had to add some downloaded information manually. Compatibility: OK Features were not easily accessible, e.g., internal calculator was not found, Interface: OK Support was OK. I called support and was effectively serviced.

This was the first year I have used the online version. There was a little bit of a learning curve. I will probably use it again next year though.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I moved, I bought or sold investments

All was good except for the importing of my RBC account information - there were a lot of redundant entries I needed to delete.

turbotax gets the job done. I've used it for many many years and have yet to have a filing be questioned.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I don't like this new version

I prefer having the software resident on the PC. Disc or download. I would also prefer the 2023 or earlier input format and interaction. I want to be able to save ALL the inputs/records. The import feature bombed, twice. I ended up having to delete and re-enter most of the 1099 data manually as it doubled entered data, and got it in incorrectly. Maybe that was a Fidelity issue.
