Had to adjust to online from desktop

First time doing the online after using desktop for many years. Change is hard. Grateful I checked because I thought that I had electronically filed and then went back to the dashboard and was confused why it was telling me to pick up where I left off. So I did and am very pleased because I may not have checked until the 15th to find that the returns had not been filed.

Using Turbotax online is not as intuitive as the past disc versions, but it was still not terribly difficult.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Constantly trying to get you to sign up for extra features and in some cases in a misleading way placing options that cost an additional fee at the top with the free options being at the bottom.

Probably my last year using TurboTax

As a 20+ year user of TurboTax on my PC, I've been forced to use the online version that is not as cleanly organized, more expensive and doesn't include my State filing. Plus, I can't use Deluxe for Schedule D anymore so the price is even more. This cost me 4 times what I normally pay for TT and I had to get it done before 3/31 to avoid paying even more! VERY DISAPPOINTING TO A LONGTIME LOYAL USER
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Disappointment

This is the worst experience I have had with TurboTax and I have been using it for years. I chose to purchase the Premier and then was invited to do the On-line version for Free--what a mistake. The format was quite confusing. I could not navigate to where I wanted to go. After 8 hours and barely 1/2 way through the Federal taxes, of what it said would take a total of 1 hour 45 minutes to complete my taxes, I gave up and wen to the Desktop version. This turned out to be futile. I spent days (multiple hours 15?) trying to get through it. It kept me going in circles and refusing to let me submit my completed forms due to "errors", though would not allow me to fix the errors or help me to do so. I googled on-line support and finally called for support. The woman who answered was helpful to get me started on another 6 hours of work. I did all of the detailed box checking (over 115 entries/columns needed checking, which I had already done twice before, as it continued to not work, with ultimately 7 buttons to push and 4 columns to look at as I did so). I tried cache cleansing as well. I had to go back to the on-line version to try and fix it through the same methods, and it finally worked enough that I could finish my taxes, though not before I had to continue through the on-line version (the Desktop version did not upload from the on-line version, though I was promised it would do so), spending more time redoing and finishing up my taxes. It was a grueling, frustrating experience. I don't believe I will use TurboTax ever again. How disappointing. I just spun in circles with refusals to proceed and no direction as to how to fix the situation. I feel TurboTax has turned into a strong marketing tool for Intuit and I resent that.
