Not worth the gross amount you charge. its convenient but other that you really make no positive benefit to the process

Too much advertising, not enough functionality

I am increasingly convinced that TurboTax is focusing too much on advertising and "deals" to win new customers, and not considering the actual experience of users once they're working in the system. I have been using this system for over ten years and 2025 will be my last year using it due to just being too frustrated with the process.
The only advantage TurboTax has over competition is in entering information about stocks. And that's not a big advantage.
1. I couldn't file my state return at the time it was completed because a "product update" was required. There is NO reason my return should be REJECTED BY THE STATE through no fault of my own, and I'm shocked a professional tax company wouldn't have everything ready to go only two weeks before tax deadline.
2. There are far too many buttons to click through in order to customize answers. I would rather see all the questions laid out so if I need to revisit a particular topic, I'm clicking to 1-2 pages instead of 10+ pages of one question each.
3. I got charged for an expert review that gave me no useful feedback whatsoever. I didn't need a pat on the back, I thought it was going to look for tax breaks and my numbers, but the expert just read an AI analysis (which I'd already seen) that summarized some numbers. Whoop de doo.
4. The price for a professional should NOT be significantly less than the price for DIY. I will be switching to a different company in future years when I am better prepared.
