Another Good Experience with Turbo Tax

I have been a Turbo Tax user since you first started in the 1980's. This is the first time I did it completely online. Did not feel as much in control as I used to be with it loaded on my computer, but I guess I will be more used to it for next year.

TT Online has gotten way better!

Great experience, but TurboTax needs to integrate It's Deductible for itemizing Charitable Contributions. The current method is incredibly cumbersome and inefficient. Extremely accurate and support was nice to have. I may finally convert to Online vs. Desktop.

Problems I saw

Turbotax was not as easy to use this year as in the past. Has to search for how to go to certain subjects. The interview wa difficult to follow in that it seemed to skip over quarterly estimated payments after it chose the standard deduction. I was displeases that turbo tax initially chose a product and that it was difficult to find how to change that choice. I'm sure many people don't want to be forced into a specific product that Turbotax chooses. I was extremely disappointed in the situation I found when I chose to check payment by credit card. There was no way I was going to pay a 2.9% fee of the total amount owed just to use a credit card. That I considered robbery.

Simple and easy

Most of it was simple to understand and quick to respond to my issues. My taxes are very basic, with very little details. However, they missed one item, for some reason at the end it was not able to confirm they did submit my taxes last year even though they used last year's tax report to fill in 2025 report.

TurboTax is a good product

The TurboTax estimated time to file was way under the actual time to file. The software leads you through most tax situations although the help topics could be better. Not being able to see the actual tax forms until paid and complete does not give the user a good feeling as to if all information is being entered correctly. Colorado full year return is much more finely tuned in TurboTax than a part year resident form that I required last year.

Frustrating Process

Very frustrating. Not as user friendly - could not easily find places to in put some of my tax info. Used the online version and still cannot see where I can add another filer (relative of mine) that I am doing taxes for. Might be forced to pay for consulting. Directions for pension entries in North Carolina did not make sense.
