They Own the market and useability is falling

I miss being able to tag sections i need to go back to. There used to be flag icons. You sneak in expert version that doubles the price with misleading content. When you type in a question to see where to enter in some form the reply pops up on the left and tells you some section where that topic can be located. The instructions do not align with the sections on the right. Why the heck aren't they hot spotted to let user select the link to go to the place you are looking for.

TurboTax is very good

I have filed for many years with TurboTa and generally it is good. I was a little disappointed this year as it did not answer my questions fully for some situations and in one case the instructions did not seem to match the questions / inputs in the deductions / credit page. I did very much appreciate the import of tax documents and 1099 reporting forms.

An absolute nightmare for tax w 1099s for traders
on March 29, 2026

I have 7 brokerage accounts with the same broker. After importing 1099 data, TurboTax required me to click through every section (Dividends, Interest, Capital Gains, etc.) for each account individually just to confirm and keep the imported records. That's 7 sections per account × 7 accounts = 49 confirmation screens, each requiring multiple clicks to review and accept. In total, I had to click through approximately 350 screens just to retain data that your system already imported successfully.
This is a fundamental design flaw. If TurboTax can detect that 1099 forms were imported for multiple accounts from the same broker, it should offer a single "Accept All" or bulk confirmation option rather than forcing users through each section one account at a time.
To make matters worse, the import did not properly parse "Various" dates in the cost basis fields on 1099-B transactions. This triggered a "Needs Checking" flag on thousands of individual stock and option transactions. I spent over 4 hours manually updating each transaction to clear these alerts — work that should have been handled automatically during the import.
I'm not the only one experiencing these issues. Your own community forums are filled with users reporting the same problems: imported data showing "Needs Review" indefinitely, imports overwriting data from other accounts, and repeated loops of re-importing without resolution. These are not edge cases — they affect anyone with multiple brokerage accounts and active trading activity.
For a product that charges a premium specifically for investment income handling, this experience was unacceptable. I'm requesting that your product team prioritize:
1. A bulk accept/confirm option for multi-account 1099 imports from the same broker
2. Proper parsing of "Various" date fields on 1099-B cost basis data
3. A streamlined review process that doesn't require hundreds of redundant clicks
I've been a TurboTax customer for years, but this year's experience has me seriously evaluating alternatives.

Turbotax online version can be better
on March 29, 2026

It has been a great experience with Turbotax and its customer service representative. My only suggestion is to improve the experience for rentals and rental property owners like having the ease to file Form 3115 and calculating depreciation. Also make Roth Conversion from traditional IRA portion little bit more clearer and input data more easier automatically from last year. Please make your online version as good as your desktop version. Also, correct things in such a way that there there are not edits required on the back end after it says lets review your federal return and then brings up form which is greyed out and difficult to enter the data in. This did create some difficulty. Please make that part more user friendly
Pros: I bought or sold investments
