State Part of Turbo tax is horrible.

The state program did not enter my estimated taxes that I paid even though I reported it at the beginning of the interview. The actual place it would be entered into my taxes never would come up on the menu to the left. I spent hours trying to get to where I could enter it. Really bad transparency of this program. I don't think I will use turbo tax again.

You guys told me I had to fix something in my federal review about my car depreciation and then didn't let me change it in the pop up. I had to redo an entire section after trying to figure it out for 20 minutes .

Bugs need fixed and...

Software has bugs. Found myself repeating same tasks. And hated at the beginning when I was left no option but to start with your most expensive version, and then had to downgrade. The overall impression is too many upsells throughout the entire process. Please just be happy with your current profits!

Glitch unresolved

We were prompted to review a section for our federal form and we did. There was no way to signal we were done with the review (we found no errors) and TurboTax kept telling us to review the same section. We finally ignored the prompt to finish our taxes.

TurboTax helped but expensive for state filing

TurboTax made it easy to file my taxes, especially with multiple jobs and self-employment income. The step-by-step guidance was helpful, and it caught important details like health insurance penalties.
However, I was disappointed that after completing everything, I had to pay an additional fee just to file my state return. It feels frustrating to do all the work and then be charged at the end.
Overall, it’s a good platform, but the pricing for state filing could be more transparent.
Pros: My employment status changed this year
