AI SUCKS. Do better.

DUCK-WITH-AN-F AI and your sloppy software. Unhelpful. Circuitous. Very frustrating. I would have finished in 20 minutes if I didn't have to revisit the same 3 questions 20 times.

Painful and frustrating to navigate

I found the flow of the TurboTax preparation process to be rather cumbersome and frustrating to navigate, with numerous repetitive reviews and re-inputting of data. Although it theoretically has the capability to directly sync with Coinbase and TIAA accounts, it was able to properly gather data from those entities for me. After significant futzing around trying to get that to work, I ended up just uploading documents and/or inputting data manually. It initially estimated a 2hr estimated completion time but it took more than double that. Also is filled with various "service upgrades" that they periodically try to sell you. I've been using TurboTax for 16 years and have been generally happy with results in the past, but I think I will use a different service next year.

TurboTax simplifies tax filing.

Turbo tax shortens the amount of time to file your taxes. By remembering your information from last year, downloading tax documents from your financial institution, and by enabling you to take pictures of tax documents and uploading them into turbo tax makes filing your taxes so much easier.

Problem fixing errors and too much manual input

Had to do a lot of manual intervention to fix errors, even though forms were imported automatically, pay stubs and tax forms. When it says we will walk you through step by step it should have links to take you directly to the item in question. When you're trying to fix something, you get stuck in this continuous loop and never fix the problem. I have been using Turbo Tax for about 32 years this year has been the most frustrating trying to file my taxes. My taxes are pretty straight forward, no complicated by any means.

Used to be a lot better and easier

TurboTax gets harder and harder to use ever year. It should remember forms I filled out last year but instead I have to go searching to enter them. I use to really like it because it was dummy-proof, but now it seem I need to know more than TurboTax to get it done correctly. Also is difficult to revisit a section without answering the same questions over and over.
