Turbo Tax is good, but not as good as it should be

Good, but could be better. Had trouble finding where to enter my QCD donations from my IRA and had trouble locating some other places to enter information. I was not able to find the entry places using Turbo Tax , so I ended up using AI- Claude which was very helpful. My take is that Turbo Tax needs to be more consumer friendly like an up-to-date AI site, especially when it comes to locating where to enter specific items.

This is a step backwards

your new TurboTax is NOT INTUITIVE. I had to get a windows 11 computer. But the new format is not easy to use. I have used Turbo Tax for well over 35 years. I am sure I updated my email to the new Gmail but at the end it offered me only my old email. (I can still use it). At the end, it said I had not used TurboTax in for 2024 taxes. This may be from new laptop or from switch to windows 11. Not clear.

Some discomfort with TT Online

Prefer desktop version to be able to easily jump around. Also do not like having my own data file on my computer. Searching for where to add a form was not helpful. Grok was much better.

Taxes are hard but TurboTax helps

I like how the software walks you through the process and asks questions so tat you don’t forget anything. I was unhappy when the software unexpectedly froze and lost all my inputs. The next time through I saved the document after every entry. It might be a good idea to suggest saving the document periodically on the screen. I was confused about the benefits to upgrade my software from the deluxe version. I opted to keep my originally purchased version despite the several times the software suggested I upgrade it. It was unclear as to the advantage to do so.
