Desktop Version is Better

Turbo tax is fine. I've used it for years but this year was using Turbo Tax online instead of the desktop software due to incompatibility with my operating system. In the online version, turbo tax tries to up charge you every step of the way, including requests to upgrade or add features several times even after declining.

Attempted manipulation

I got to nearly the end and sensed that I was going to be charged more than I expected, where there was going to be an "expert review" that I didn't believe I opted for, seems the very first step or two stee3red me that way without my direct intended consent. I was disappointed in this, I did find a way to downgrade before I was charged, but felt manipulated. Please do better.

TurboTax is a tick on the populace

It sucks that I have to pay money in order to effectively pay my taxes. It double sucks that you have ads for upgrading your product in the middle of my filing. It's absolutely horrendous that the AI also butts in. This experience is horrible and I hope changes are made that I don't have to interface with this again.

Generally ok but it was very difficult to find where to input estimated payments we had made and difficult to navigate from one section to another without answering the same questions repeatedly.

Turbotax is taking advantage of people filing tax

Just a crook company trying to take money inbetween you and the government. $40 processing fee out of your refund for no given reason. Additional fees for no help, just to trick someone.

I love TurboTax

In general, my experience with TurboTax is excellent, but the reason I only gave it 4 stars is that for someone like myself who lives in the UK some functions were not accessible to the fullest extend. In some situations TurboTax rejected my UK postal code and also my UK telephone number. Even though at the beginning it accepted my foreign address it did not allow me to input it on 1099-R. It was a bit frustrating.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
