Disappointed Customer

Really disappointed with the updates to the platform & not happy at all with the pricing offerings. Also really annoyed by all the upselling that occurs now during the filing process. Doing your taxes is never enjoyable, but what I liked about TurboTax in the past is the user experience was straightforward and helpful that it made the process of filing feel easier. However, now I feel like I'm getting tricked into spending more money and I'm losing trust in the product. I'm definitely going to look into using another product or even go back to finding an accountant next year.

Very frustrating.

I kept having to re-input numbers and information. The constant advertisements were tiring and the interruptions only served to throw me off my momentum. If I needed help, I would have asked. If I wanted to upgrade to receive that help, I would have asked. I have used Turbo Tax for years and this is the first time I have experienced such a high level of frustration. It may be time for me to look for an alternative.

TurboTax is not what it used to be

I have used TurboTax for many years, probably around 20 years and for the most part it's always been a good experience until this year (2025 filing). There were imortant items that I needed to enter but couldn't find, and had to do Google Searches to find answers. I had a form to fill out that translated it to a different form so I don't know if it's right or not. There was a major glitch in the software where I had to call for help. The firs representative had no clue what to do, but refused to transfer me to a supervisor. When he finally did, the superviser was great. They couldn't figure out what the software error was, but found a way around it. This will probably be my last year with TurboTax. Even this review form has troubles with my typing and entry. They really dropped the ball.

Glitchy software to say the least.

This was a very glitchy piece of software. The overall program worked quite well until you get to the filing part and then you loop where it asks for drivers license information twice. Actually closed down the software came back another day to get it to finally file my federal return. I have Win10 and will update before next year as the online program is so much more difficult that the desktop.

Not what I would have liked

I do not like on-line TurboTax. It will not let e see things again or correct if I think I made an error. I would not use it except it is the only way to have info imported. I was very disappointed that I had to use the on-line version.

Backdoor Roth experience needs work

I do backdoor Roth IRA contributions. This is notoriously obnoxious, but TurboTax still does only an okay job with this. When processing a 1099-R in the same year as you have a lot of earned income, it should ask, "Was this a Roth IRA conversion?" and then walk you through the various boxes to check for both federal and state returns. It also initially shows that distribution as taxable, so your return/amount owed jumps between ingesting the form and when it decides the amount isn't taxable.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I moved, I bought or sold investments
