TurboTax Basic Plan

I am not pleased with the aggressiveness of the upselling of the higher plans. Wasn't clear on how to choose the basic plan and was automatically enrolled into the Plus plan. Fees are starting to accumulate a lot more than in the past. There is a Plan fee as low as $100, $40 fee for filing for State, $40 mandatory Fee for filing with Turbo tax in general. For someone who has used Turbo Tax for some years, due to the amount of fees that accured, I will not be continuing.

Turbo tax changed for 2025 tax yr. Not so good . Difficult for the average person to file.

I've used TurboTax ever since my very first return filed. Through years of various filing situations like running a one-man shop business, having kids, and owning a home, it has prompted me all along the way. I have a decent background with tax filings, but I continue to use TurboTax for the ease of the process. They make it an enjoyable experience while adding layers of complexity seem simple. Grateful for their services through the years. Highly recommend it to those wanting a simple and cheaper option vs. using an accountant.

good had one part that gave me trouble but lucky was fixed , Im new to this tax stuff, use to have someone do it but cant afford to pay anyone now

Slimy up-sale tactics,

You've made it harder every year to just get through the tax paying process with more and more buttons, bad automation, and slimy upsale tactics. Especially the end where it keeps pushing all these third parties like gift cards and hiding the direct deposit option to scrape more money out of the return.
I had to fight the automation for nearly 10 minutes to get it to stop trying to duplicate my one 1099NEC and doubling my income. Since the interface has done away with all the ease of use from previous years with clutter and bait/switch activity, I'm leaning toward going with another tax service next year.
