Turbotax seems to be slipping, cutting corners

I have used turbotax for many years and found it significantly more difficult this year. It was much harder to navigate to specific issues. I had a couple of situations where it took me hours to get to the bottom of a problem.

Turbo Tax is user friendly for non-experts

It was very easy to work through the process, and I very rarely had to refer to Google to answer my questions. For the things I went to Google for, they were personal specific questions.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Way too expensive

I have very little dividends and my financial manager does the investing. It is all reinvested. So I have to upgrade to Premium addition of Turbo Tax...$139!!!! I have to pay to file my taxes. Not because I owe taxes JUST to file. Seems very unfair to me. Yes it is convenient and I don't mind paying a FAIR price. But this is way too much.

Scam

TurboTax saying I was “free to file” was a strong start.
Then the whole process turned into nonstop upsells, plus another **$64** for state filing that showed up way too late in the game. By the end, I paid around **$200** to file online for what looks like the same exact thing the desktop version does for about **$55**.
Nothing makes you trust a company more than realizing “free” apparently just means “we’ll discuss pricing later.”

Very Simple and efficient

The AI box would pop up at times that seemed inconvenient, but I felt it was also helpful. Maybe an option in the future to use the AI or not.
