Greedy Vampires Who Can’t Help Themselves

I have been using turbo tax for several years, and its platform is easy to use and run by vampires who will nickel and dime you for dumb reasons. Want us to file your federal return? Did you do everything yourself on our platform? Neat that’ll be $100. File state? It costs us almost nothing because we automated the whole process, but it’ll cost you $32. Want to pay out of your tax return for our services? Thank you so much, the convenience of you paying us money we were already asking for is $40.
This is the same company that fought tooth and nail to not let the IRS form it’s own website to file our taxes for free by offering their own services for free as a compromise, only to kill that program a few years later. As soon as there is a cheaper alternative or the IRS launches their own tax filing service, I hope turbo tax as a product withers and dies as it should.
