I thought I was paying for my federal tax but actually on the next screen it said I just paid for the turbo tax service.

Turbo tax sucks

Having to revisit the same pages over and over is exhausting. This has been an issue for years and it seems like the development team is doing nothing to address. There is a form that was needed 8 years ago, but keeps popping up on my screen. When I asked the help chat how to delete, it gave me the wrong instructions. I had an agent call me and we resolved quickly, but why is the help giving incorrect information?

TurboTax will get you with additional wasted fees

Turbotax used to be straight forward with the fees. Now you have integrated confusion to get more money out of your customers with the way things are setup and hidden. I am very disappointed.

I wish there was more transparency with their fees. I felt that way through most of the process, but especially when the program told me there was an additional $40 convenience fee to "pay with my refund" after I had already selected that option and moved on to the next steps. The "info" buttons also aren't usually very helpful, they just restate the obvious of the situation, not explain why or what is being asked. If it wasn't for the convenience of being able to fill out the tax information on my own time, I don't know that I would bother with this vs. using a local CPA.
