Fast, easy, and affordable. I did all my taxes within an hour and didn’t have to speak to anyone.

The only good thing about TurboTax at this stage is the import function and even that doesn’t work well. I am so disappointed with the constant upselling. Not to mention it doesn’t capitalize the first letter in any box. The upcharging at every step is predatory.

Quick and Clear in instructions provided during filling-in and also great help available. Top of that this year, i like analysis tabs which provided Tax break down, credits, paid etc.. nice to see that abstract after all data get filled.

MUCH better than before/MUCH room for improvement

MUCH improved over previous years with easier navigation (not yet perfect) and better (plainer English) explanations (not yet perfect) but with MUCH more room for improvement. I estimate it took me at least 10 hours of focused effort (not hyperbole) to do my taxes this year with Turbo (most of that was just struggling to be sure I knew what I was doing). While the support elements helped, and I used the community Q/A once successfully and a phone consult as well (who calmly walked me through my having to redo a lot of stuff), the instructions are still mostly in legalize, driving us normal people a bit nuts). They must be limited in how plain their English can be.... If not, why don't they just get the tax expert's MOM to write the instructions? Let the Mom's tax expert child speak to her... and then SHE can write to us normal people!
With all that said, Turbo has improved much from a few years ago.
I appreciated that I was able to upgrade my product to Max and then reconsider (consider canceling later) which I did not choose to do. Now, I'm not sure that you can cancel all product upgrades (before you purchase them), but I could with Max before purchasing. (In the past, once you upgraded (even before your purchased), your upgrade could not be revised... it used to be a one-way street. If that's still the case, doc a star from 4 to 3)
Another problem was that it asked for some details for my 1099-R (not available on the form but requiring me to call my bank), and after I placed in the information to Turbo, that info was then locked. When I learned that the info I put in was mistaken (Turbo confusingly asked for the "account start date"... and as I had inherited it, I gave them MY start date and not the date my father had created the account -- as the Turbo instructions were unclear), there was NO way to fix it. I had to erase the form and start again (working with a super nice Turbo phone representative). I had to erase a total of two forms for similar reasons and start again. So, if you are wondering how I spent my 10 hours, now you know better.
Additionally, while I am on a role, their downloading content straight from my bank was AMAZING (big 1099), BUT the majority of my banks and forms could not be handled that way, so I made a lot of hand-written submissions of forms (and, noted upon multiple personal reviews, a few errors of mine!). Again, an hour or two to the filing.
Overall... the whole general process is stressful (especially when I owe thousands of dollars to the Government!!) ... but I do like how I can sign in and out repeatedly, and it can take me back (sort of... close enough) to where I left off. So, when I say (without hyperbole) that it took me at least 10 hours, that was over the course of about 3 weeks.
