Waste of time and money

Wasted time collecting college expenses only to later be told we do not qualify for any credits because of making too much money. TurboTax should have known that immediately from the W2s. Multiple questions misleading or lack of explanations. Probably on purpose so you would pay for additional tax advice.

Will not be using TurboTax again next year. Year after year there are things built in that make me question the integrity of TurboTax and its calculations, and question whether its price is fair as a base product.

I didn't want to go with the Premium package. I just wanted to go with the minimum cost and it charged me $148 with tax. My standard deduction was more than my taxable income. there was no explanation as to why it charged me so much. I would not have filed my taxes this way if I had realized the charges.

Turbotax works

I wanted to scan my 1099-R forms but didn't see how. It was very difficult to find a phone number for a live assistance. The instructions said I could preview my Form 1040. It was not clear that I first had to pay the TurboTax fee. I bought more services than I wanted. I din't see how to change it.
When I received live assistance they helped me figure out the answer to my questions.

Hidden charges. Scam

Hidden charges that I had no idea how to get rid of. Charged me $140 for premium even though I never asked or agreed and couldn’t get it off.
But I waited til the last minute and needed to file so o was stuck with it.
