Turbo Tax Does the Job

Turbo Tax gets the hob done. I liked earlier versions netter because I think Turbo Tax is trying to do too much for you. If you understand taxes preparation ( I have done my own taxes for 57 years and pretty well known what to do. I can see that a newbie would love to have all the questions et al but I find them annoying. I especially hate all the PIN numbering. It droves me crazy. I ended up mailing my returns in because it became too cumbersome deal with all the "help" that was offered.

Using TurboTax is like hiring someone to help you out of a maze they built. Sure, the software is polished, but let’s not ignore the fact that TurboTax thrives on keeping taxes confusing. They've spent millions lobbying to prevent the IRS from offering simple, free filing options—because if taxes were easy, TurboTax wouldn’t have a reason to exist.
They parade around like heroes for "simplifying" tax filing, when in reality they’re the gatekeepers of the nonsense. It’s like lighting your house on fire and then charging you to put it out.
The worst part? Most people could file for free—but TurboTax buries those options so deep you’d think they were hiding treasure. Spoiler: they are. It’s your money.
Thanks, TurboTax. You’ve turned paying taxes into a subscription-based escape room.

I use turbo tax every year. It's pretty efficient. However, I encourage all to itemize, rather than do standard deduction. My returns are always better this way.
