So cartoonish it made taxes more difficult

Software is dumbing down so badly it gets complicated: Massive "empty white space" on the screen (so it can show a cartoon of a guy holding a cat on his lap), so now the user has to scroll down to even FIND the buttons that actually work. Explanations are word salad. Simple concepts (in PRIOR years) are now convoluted in that word salad, and the software flow jumbles logic so badly that it's easier to get the PAPER forms and just type in the numbers. Once the IRS gets the Direct File up and running for the 1099-NEC's... I can't imaging anybody PAYING money to slog through the child-like cartoons that TurboTax has become (which actually makes filing taxes MORE complicated).

Turbotax sucks

Overpriced, app is confusing. Have to pay an arm and a leg to get help. I think my return is inaccurate, but I gave up because it's far too difficult to know where to go to fix it. Hoping next year I can use something other than turbotax. I cant afford my taxes and I have to pay $200 just to file? And for some reason you say I gotta pay $465 to federal but I'm getting a $171 refund? Makes no sense! I can't even begin to guess where it went wrong, but I give up. Don't know how I'll afford food, utilities probably getting shut off. All because I for some reason have to pay $171 extra to federal just to get it back later, which doesn't help me right now.

I have used Turbo Tax to file my returns I think since 2007. My taxes are complicated and even I can do it with Turbo Tax. Used to pay a CPA...no more.
