Turbo Tax is Excellent

1099 FEIN 00-0000000 will require "file by mail"

TurboTax performs the data collecting portion of tax filing as expected. This year, they check for FEIN values though so if you have any 1099 forms where the payer doesn't have an FEIN value, you'll have to file by mail. I called the payer to ask about this situation and they really do not have a FEIN. The provided 00-0000000 value on my 1099-DIV is correct.
It's a bit tone-deaf for TurboTax to keep suggesting e-file as an option, despite the system's inability to get past this issue. Filing taxes this year feels extremely inefficient. I missing being able to e-file. Not a fan of TurboTax this year.
