Watch out for dark patterns and deceptive options

I have used TurboTax for years and find it has gotten increasingly deceptive and less helpful over the years. The amount of times it tries to upsell you to products you don't need, and hide the "free" ways to do things like get your refunds under very subtle "more options" links are dark patterns trying to get around people that aren't reading extremely closely.

ONLY One bad Experience in 10 + years

The Process was easy, but the Payment Process gave an option to deduct from Federal Refund or to Pay with Credit Card. Session would NOT accept the Credit Card. An Additional $40 was deducted to have the payment come out of the Federal Refund. ------ A Glitch? Who knows. My ONLY negative experence with TurboTax in 10+ years.

I see errors it's making but have no way to correct them. The price has gone up significantly too for no reason because you certainly dont get any more value for this higher price.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Expensive and hidden costs

I HATE hidden fees! Just be up front about your pricing. It continues to go up and then I see I am being charged $40 to have the cost taken out of my federal refund... The basic cost and the $40 and we are at $170... why not just walk in somewhere and have someone do it for me at this point...?
