Trying too hard

It says "all done" like 4-5 different times and then "just 3 more steps" before requiring 12 more steps. Just tell me when the process is actually done. Also i dont want the stupid MAX, quit spamming me with ad screens.

I think turbotax is predatory scum, filing taxes should be free but turbotax lobbies to make sure it isn't.

You can use TurboTax with Linux

I used the friendly WEB app. to enter all of my tax information again this year. Using my laptop and the Brave browser, which is running the POP OS distribution of Linux. This is the second year that I've used it and it works very well. I took my time double checking everything and after a total of 3 hours was able to E-File both the federal and state income tax forms.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I moved, I had a baby

Keep simple stuff simple.

my situation is fairly simple. I have pensions from two companies, a 401k, and a savings and checking account. I have been this way for 10 years, and every year the questions get more complex. There were dozens of questions I felt I had no need to answer about these financial assets, yet I was forced to give answers to questions written so poorly I didn't understand the implications. That is both answers seemed to have the same effect.
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Turbo tax is honestly terrible. I filed with you every year and it never finds that i previously filed with them. Every 3rd click it to opt out of some extra money add on. They lobby against making tax software free to file and make it confusing on purpose. Shame shame shame.
