This year, I encountered several issues while using the TurboTax program. Initially, not all tax forms were available in mid-January, requiring me to wait until early February when I received an email notification that the necessary forms were finally accessible. Additionally, when entering my property parcel number, the system required a 13-digit entry, while my parcel number is only 10 digits. An online search revealed that many others experienced the same issue. Multiple searches confirmed that my parcel number, as listed on my official tax documents, was indeed only 10 digits. Online forms should be user-friendly, and taxpayers should not have to find workarounds to complete their filings. Ultimately, I found a (hopefully legal) solution by appending three zeros at the end of the number. After completing my tax return and preparing to e-file, I was prompted to make a payment, which I understood and completed without issue. However, after paying over $100, the system repeatedly informed me that I could not file electronically due to a specific form. It then led me through a frustrating loop, asking for driver’s license verification and confirming whether I wanted to e-file—something I had already paid for. Each time, the system displayed a "SUCCESS" message, only to revert to the same error about the form preventing e-filing. Eventually, I resolved the issue by logging out and back in, at which point my return successfully filed. I sincerely hope everything processes correctly, but this experience was unnecessarily frustrating.
