Good product with a few non-fatal issues

Most things in TurboTax work well. But it doesn't handle book royalties under Schedule E properly and it combines some numbers in non-intuitive ways.

TurboTax works well

I had some issues with reporting royalty income. The interface was a bit confusing when reporting the income from a lease renewal for mineral rights. However, a specialist call to assist me resolved that very nicely and all went well.

For the first time in 25 years I WAS NOT HAPPY with Turbotax. Several times things weren't explained well and I had to do other research and/or ask my broker. When I got all done I realized nothing ever mentioned my qualified charitable contribution and I had have a stranger online tell me how to enter that- it involved going in and changing my birthdate temporarily. Really stupid. And then after paying $139 it would not efile. A painful few days of confusion and frustration. I'm shopping for a different service for next year.
