It shouldn't cost so much money to file yourself, only reason why I use TurboTax is because it can pull my stash info unlike others.

Good process but have everything you need to start

Inputting your data follows a very logical and easy to understand path as long as you have all of your information. I did not have everything I needed when I started the process and had to go back into sections later on. The process flow is so automated I repeated the review of entire sections multiple times to move on to the next section I needed. In some cases I questioned if I had already completed a section or done something wrong so I had to do it again. Theirs no doubt TurboTax wants to cover every aspect of your filing to make sure you haven't missed or overlooked something but be prepared to answer the same questions a few times along the way.

A grift on the US taxpayer

Tax preparers are truly awful, tricking Americans into paying for a service that should be handled by the state. Not only that, they lobby our lawmakers so they can continue the grift. If lawmakers actually served the American people these products would not exist.
