When I was ready to file my return and authorize payment, I got to a page that mentioned Premium Service for $44. I went back and forth several times to try to understand if I was going to be charged this extra amount. I called my wife over to look at that page and subsequent pages to see if she thought I was agreeing to an extra charge. She couldn't tell either. I was looking for an option to say I didn't want it, but there was none. I eventually hit "confirm". Twenty minutes later when I was ready to file, I saw for the first time the total TurboTax was charging me. It included the cost of the "Premium Service" which I didn't want. But it was too much of a pain to go back and redo everything so I let it go. Actually, I figured TurboTax was going to charge me for that because of the ambiguity of the information about Premium Service. I knew I didn't want it, but I could see no way to move forward without checking the "confirm" button.
Everything in the Turbotax documentation is clear enough except for that part. It obviously is put there without clarification and without the ability to decline it. I tried hard to indicate that I didn't want it, but there was no obvious way to avoid being charged for something I didn't want.
I have been filing my taxes myself for the past three years. I had an accountant before but moved out of state and thought I would give Turbo Tax a try! It is the most intutive tax program ever! I guess that is why its made by INTUIT! I would reccommend anyone try it! Thank you Turbo Tax!
