Taxes suck!!

Most confusing return yet! I have used Turbo Tax for many years and never had so much difficulty. Maybe due in part to Tax Law changes. We did have to get a new laptop because our old one wouldn't let us upload Turbo Tax. We did use Turbo Tax last year to successfully file our taxes but when asked how we filed last year, that was not an option and we weren't allowed to explain.
I have used turbo tax for many years and have always been happy with it until recently. The new interface and all online pricing is predatory and confusing. It is easy to click on services you do not need inadvertantly. I believe this is dishonest and bad business practice. I will consider using another software next year. I also believe that the price is too high for the "Do it Yourself" Premium. The pricing is overshadowing the helpfulness of the product.
very accurate helpful to be able to compare with other tax products
Pros: My employment status changed this year

I didn't like the online version since it more restrictive than the desktop version. If data is going to be removed, such as checking if standard or itemized deduction is better, let the user know prior to removing the data. With the desktop version, I can save the return prior to making changes, with the online version, that is not possible.
I found that TurboTax online was a much inferior product to the TurboTax desktop product. I have been using your desktop product since 2003. I will not be using the online version again. The software got confused in several place where it insisted that a subject be reviewed and after reviewing the subject still would not let me proceed as it wanted the same subject to be reviewed. In fact I had to entered made up numbers in several categories in the deductions section as it insisted that I review them but when I did it stated all was good as I was using the standard deduction and did not need any additional input. This type of thing occurred in multiple places and caused the time to complete my return to be extended by several hours.
Navigation between sections was difficult for me but maybe that just how it works compared to using the desktop. FWI: the computer I was using to do my taxes was Windows 10 based so I thought using the online version would allow porting my returns between computers to be easier.
Lastly it cost approximately twice what I typically pay for the desktop which irritates me since I considered the online version to be inferior.
Easy to navigate. Also like the help articles> It cleared up some of the concerning questions.

We love hearing that the process felt effortless for you. Taxes are complicated enough, so we’ve designed our interface to take the guesswork out of every step.
When jumping back to something earlier, you have to do tons of clicking through the same forms, over and over again, just to get back to where you want. Navigation could be greatly improved. Also, clearing out bogus empty forms that got added and are causing problems is really hard. Overall, I expect much better given what I paid for this.
