The system is a reasonably simple step-by-step that allows the user to figure out most of the standard tax situations. Especially useful is the ability to drag and drop files right into the system.

TurboTax makes is possible to work through the tax code on your own. If your banking / financial institutions connect that makes data entry much easier. It may not optimize your return if you don't know - but I imagine for most people it does what's needed.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I bought or sold investments
