Turbo Tax sets the bar for tax software!!!

first time using Turbo Tax. was very easy to use and even though I had many W2s and other tax forms. it walked me through the process step by step. I tried to do this on my own and was going to pay the IRS $300. now I'm getting back over $3000. Couldn't be more pleased with the outcome
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I moved, I bought or sold investments

TIMES OUT, DOESN'T LET ME KNOW MY REFUND WHILE PREPARING, AND EVERY EVERY EVERY SINGLE YEAR IT LOCKS UP ON ME WHEN I PAY AND TRY TO FILE.

Decent except for using Californai form 3840

The California Like-Kind Exchanges form 3840 never works. I have to file it every year, and every year turbo tax can not get it entered correctly, the program is incapable of it. I have to print my CA return and fill it in manually and mail the whole return because I can't e-file like I do with my federal and other state tax returns. I know it is a somewhat obscure form that most people don't use/fill out but it should work better!

Very user friendly for an old newbie

This was my first time using Turbo Tax. This was also the first time in about 25 years that I've filed my tax returns myself, instead of having someone else do them. I was very nervous about doing my taxes myself, but this program made things easy. The program asks lots of questions to help guide you along and everything felt very user friendly and logical. It took me about three hours to complete my federal and state taxes, but I was going pretty slow, since it was my first time. I will definitely use this again next year!
