Very good service, but I don't know if the $130 dollars or so I pay is fees through turbotax/intuit or state/ government. Either way these are heft fees for doing it all on my own.
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments, I had a baby
I did not engage with Live assistance. I was disappointed that there were multiple fee changes/upgrades- initially it will be this amount, but if you really want to feel covered you need this amount and then well you actually require this amount and if you really want to feel covered with that it is this much extra...- mine increased twice and I turned down 2 more increases and then I clicked to have my Turbo Tax payment come out of my return and noticed that created and additional fee instead of being told up front "would you like your Turbo Tax fee to come out of your return instead of having to pay up front? Doing so will be an additional $40 fee" what was initially $39 ended up $150, I know that some of that was me agreeing to extra audit coverage but some was not and it would have been a lot more if had gove with some of the other extra coverages and fees- I feel like there should be an upfront menu of benefits/fees. You did however, do a good job of takign me through the process step by step
For the most part, Turbo Tax is rather easy to use. However, I do wish that you would be more consistent in the forms that you need filled out. For example, on Schedule F, I need to provide information from a 1099-PTR but you do not list the various boxes on that form so you make it hard to know what to input. I also feel like you made it more difficult this year. Lastly, I do feel like you have too many advertisement options included, always wanting to upsell.
