Easy to Use, But Getting Too Expensive

I've been using TurboTax for years, and I still appreciate how easy it makes filing my taxes. The step-by-step guidance, user-friendly interface, and ability to import past returns all make the process smooth and stress-free.
That said, the price has gotten really high. I remember when filing a federal return was free, and you only had to pay for state filing. I don’t expect it to be free—TurboTax is a business, and they need to make money—but the current pricing feels excessive. The base cost is already steep, and then they tack on an extra $40 just to e-file. That adds up quickly, especially for people who don’t have complex tax situations.
TurboTax is still one of the best options for convenience, but the rising costs make it harder to justify. At this rate, I might start looking into alternatives next year.
