Turbotax has lost my trust

The import-from-bank feature has been a mess for years. I'm fine just uploading y brokerage account documents directly to turbotax but if that's even possible anymore, I truly can't figure it out. Even when I do the thing Turbotax railroads me into which is connecting y bank account, it can't seem to decipher the tax documents itself so it makes me go through every one of them.
ALSO Turbotax is rife with false advertising. In my employer payroll platform, ADP, right next to my income and benefits information, There's a section that says 'Turbotax estimates your tax return to be $_____ which was 10x my actual return. It also says you can file for free, but I have an extremely basic tax filing and it cost me around $70 WITH a discount.
Worst of all is the cost. With a discount, with an extremely simple tax filing (a W2 and a couple 1099s from my very basic investment accounts through my reputable bank) it still cost me around $70.
I do not trust Turbotax to not sell my data, I do not trust Turbotax to not send me span, I do not trust turbotax to not hide better tax deductions and returns behind a paywall, and I don't trust Turbotax to guide me through my taxes accurately. If there were any other option that was remotely easy I would use it in a heartbeat. I will never recommend Turbotax as anything other than a last resort, and I've begrudgingly used it for my entire adult life.

I preferred a stand-alone software disc. But the online version was quite similar. It was a little tricky to switch between my wife's data and mine...for example two IRAs.
