It was awful trying to enter license code. My computer automatically started turbo tax so we had to start over and try to enter it at the end . What a mess!
I have used Turbo Tax for years and prior to this year it would have been a 5 start. However, the inability to download last years returns meant I had to re-enter all of my information again. That was not a great experience.
The biggest problem was that between sessions of working on our taxes and saving it after each session, many items that we had entered had disappeared. This happened several times and was very frustrating to have to check back to see what had disappeared.
Near the end we did talk to a person on the phone as Turbo Tax program said we had not filed with Turbo Tax last year. the response time was fast and helpful.
Online version: easy and free except when it isn't

1) Very difficult to jump back to a specific topic or data item with out walking back through multiple steps. Makes it extremely difficult to correct an error or delete an erroneous entry. 2) Online version is NOT upfront about required version upcharges if filing requires anything other than 1040EZ or 1040A. The required fee for the TurboTax Deluxe before being able to file was totally unexpected. Additional $35 refund direct deposit fee 3) Importing data from a previous year tax filing using a desktop version of TurboTax is not adequately explained. Took several tries and seeking outside assistance. 4) Incompatibility between online and desktop versions is frustrating. My father, who uses the desktop version, was unable to provide much assistance as the step-by-step processes, data entry screens, and menus are almost totally different.
