TurboTax is awesome, but expensive.

Turbo Tax is a great program and I have been using it to file my return since I got my first job at 15 in 2014. The first few years it was free or had a low fee to use the program, which was great and I appreciate being able to use my return to cover the cost of those fees. This program makes it easier to file and explains all of the questions adequately. I am however looking at other options for my 2025 filing. I am tired of having to pay this large basic fee to use the program (even with discounts) and then paying a massive $40 processing fee right at the end just to be able to use my return to cover the costs. It is also extremely frustrating knowing that I have been using this service for so long only for Intuit to offer a free basic filing to new customers. This wasn't so bad this year, but last year when I owed taxes, it hurt even more having to pay all of these fees.
I prefer the previous version of Turbo Tax, it kept a tally at the top of the amount owed/gained as you entered data. Also I had to reenter previous identifying information that I did not have to do on previous years.
Everything went pretty smoothly throughout the process! However, when I was doing a final review of the documents, I noticed that the amounts for dividends and interest were counted twice, and affected my return by about $200. There should be some safety net if the values shown in 2 rows of a document match exactly, and should raise a red flag in the software. It would be nice to have a TurboTax expert review my return, as the document attached to my return that listed these values disappeared after I removed the repeated information. The dollar amounts were listed in the first page of the return, I just want to make sure the return includes all the information/documents it was supposed to.
