Last time using TurboTax

I'm not sure who was in charge of the layout this year, but it did not create a great user experience—in fact, it was the most frustrated I've ever been while doing my taxes. In the past, I could select different parts of the process on the left side of the screen at any time to make changes. This year, I would have to either close the window and log back in, or frustratingly fiddle around the options until I was able to successfully navigate my way through the unnecessary labyrinth of this year's program. And here's the worst part of it all: I never saw how much I owed on the State tax—anywhere. I looked all over the site and attempted to use the lookup tool, but to no avail. I had to guess based on the amount of my total federal return, minus the amount I owe to Turbo Tax for their "services," and then calculate the difference of the end amount it showed for my return. If I have to do the math myself, what do I need turbo tax for? I've been using this service for years, so this is a HUGE disappointment. Friends and family have told me for years to use other tax services and I've told them I was happy with Turbo Tax, but you've easily made my decision to move on after this. Please, just do better for your clients next year.

It is much worse this year - give me back control

This year was the most frustrating year. The system forced me to answer a bunch of questions even though I knew what I wanted to do (ie I knew I wanted to itemize my deductions...so why are you asking so many questions, or why are you asking me questions even though nothing changed from last year and I told you that) so it took longer than it should have. Kind of a pain. It would be one thing if I was new to doing my taxes or new to TurboTax but I have been doing them for many years with TurboTax. It is honestly making me consider switching to another provider next year.
