TurboTax is really solid

Overall the user experience is great. They've made it so simple to file taxes even for moderately complex situations. I know nothing about taxes and this was my first year doing it on my own. I still needed my AI assistant on the side to get answers to questions and without that I think I would have questioned myself a little too much for comfort. Built in AI agents would be nice as well as some more ai analysis of your return.

What did TurboTax do with my 2023 tax information?

Main gripe is TurboTax said it didn't have my 2023 tax info. However, I indeed used TurboTax to prepare and file my taxes. This could have been a problem had I not downloaded the 2023 tax return where the exact adjusted gross income is needed or the IRS won't accept the 2024 return.

TurboTax steals money from your pocket

TurboTax is practically a criminal platform. They allowed me to spend 90 minutes preparing my federal tax return, only to inform me at the end that at some point I had unwittingly moved from the free tax file tool to a premium tool that cost $80 to use. TurboTax should pay ME the $80 for my wasted time... Absolutely disgusting.

Turbo Tax does the job

I did the simplest was to do my taxes and a $168 Turbo Tax seems a bit excessive. Next Year I will research more as to what my other options are.
