It’s not free anymore. I could have done it myself. We probably don’t even need a state tax done. Almost 70 years old and on a budget. There was no warning
They forced me to pay more that I wanted to. Kept telling me I MUST upgrade. I always do my taxes myself and last year they charged me for live support which I never used or agreed to. They tried to do it again this year and I had to go completely back out and start over again twice to avoid this. Then they charge an additional $40 fee right at the end to actually file your taxes after you've already paid!
I still like using TurboTax for completing my filing each year and I still dislike go through the "rare instances" section towards the end. I think Intuit should have a box that can be checked in the beginning that ask if there are any new changes in how or what you need to file or claim this new year. For those that answer 'no" or don't check the box, then both Intuit and the customer will expect to not have to go through the "rare instances" section at the end.
I only gave a 4 rating instead of a 5 because this is the first time Turbo Tax kept asking me to Review info that was on statement packages from my financial institution. It wanted me to reenter the information by hand. I use Turbo Tax because I don't want to insert info by hand.
I had done my taxes in January but when you sent me an email you said I had not started so I had to start all over again,. That return was supposed to be free. Now you say I had not started and had to do it all over and this time you charged me for a simple return.
