Because of your software limitations, I had to mail, instead of efiling, my federal and state tax returns. I receive a military retirement pension (reported on a 1099-R) and your software placed my Massachusetts tax exempt military pension on Massachusetts Tax Form 1 which was not accepted. Your error statement indicated that I need to report it on a pension tax worksheet. And because of this, I could not efile my federal return also. You need to correct your software for Massachusetts to automatically fill out the necessary worksheet for this military tax exempt income.
Turbo Tax software wanted to change me with a penalty for not taking an RMD for a corporate pension. NO RMD is required. I finally cleared the problem by deleting the the offending 1099-R reentering; I could not clear the problem by editing the 1099-R.
When e-filing it indicated my social security number did not match what I had previously entered which was not the case.
