Turbo Tax is a hassle for expats

I am a U.S. citizen who is a permanent resident of Japan with a Japanese wife. Using Turbo Tax is convenient, but I always run into a problem about what to put for my wife's information, as she is not a U.S. citizen and doesn't have a social security number. I do married, filing separately, but every year when I try to file it says I need a social security for her, so I put in a fake one, print out the form, and then erase and mail it in, which is a big hassle. Last year, I tried to file electronically, and the form was sent with the fake S.S.N. for her and rejected, so I then mailed it in again, but do not know if it has been registered. This year I tried leaving the S.S.N. blank and it seemingly let me file electronically, but I don't know if I'll be rejected again. My situation is not uncommon, so it is very frustrating that Turbo Tax doesn't have a way to acknowledge that I have a foreign wife. This site is not friendly to expats, who probably need Turbo Taxes help more than others. Most expats I know pay for someone to do their taxes privately because of this hassle, so Turbo Tax is losiing a lot of potential business.
Turbo Tax was very easy to navigate and understand. I really enjoyed how personable and easy it was to understand the FAQs. It's almost like talking/reading from a human and not a robot.
