It's inexpensive for what it does. It does it right every year. It catches things I would have missed. It makes complicated things seem easy. It does all the hard work.

Very well done program, superior to H and R, the upselling for audit support is distracting, just include that with a slightly higher cost instead of maximizing the profit on the minority of people especially fearful.

Turbo tax has gotten scammy over the years, and has been trying to find more and more ways to trick you into spending more money and authorizing them to use more and more of your information

Deceptive

The tax filing works fine but your emails and ads are deceptive - implying that action must be taken right away or that a refund is waiting on someone when in fact you have no idea if someone even has a refund coming because they haven't loaded their info yet. And the constant pushing to upgrade or sign up for a higher level of tax prep is not clearly enough marked (in my opinion). I would be very curious to see the number of people that pay for a higher level of tax prep but never take advantage of the help from tax pros.
